Freebie Friday: 5 Free Resources for Design

Welcome to another edition of Freebie Friday where I will share 5 more resources for you designers out there.

1. What's My Browser Size?



This is a great resource for web designers to use as they code, especially for responsive web sites. As the name suggests, What's My Browser Size will allow you to resize the window with a dynamically changing readout on what the exact browser size is at any moment.


2. PLTTS



Pronounced "Palettes" this tool is great for picking out a color palette for your next project. A top 20 set of color palettes are display on the home page. However, you can type in a HEX code for a color you've chosen to see other colors that compliment it. 


3. BLOKK Font 


BLOKK font is a font that is made for wireframing and design mock ups. The font is made up of blocks rather than any type of text. This is a useful alternative to using Lorem Ipsum. 


4. Color 


This color chooser is another great tool for choosing colors in your design or website. The interface is extremely simple and easy to use. Simply move your mouse around the website to view different colors as well as the displayed HEX code. When you find a color you like, click to save it. A new division will appear so you can start matching up colors for your palette. You can also scroll on the page to adjust the saturation point. 


5. Brand Colors


Brands are quite particular in their style guides on how you display their icons or colors. This website has a ton of popular brands with their associated logo colors. When clicking on the color, the HEX code is displayed for the correct brand color associated with the style guide. Whether you are using the logo or making social media icons, this website is a one-stop shop to find the correct color to use. Brands are listed in alphabetical order and you can also search for brands at the top.
